Why choose the 80-10-10 model?
This approach is based on the natural diet of dogs in the wild, who would typically consume small prey animals such as rabbits, birds, and other small critters. In the wild, a dog would eat a mixture of muscle meat, bones, and organs, which is exactly what this model aims to replicate.
The benefits of the 80-10-10 raw dog food diet
For many dog owners, the 80/10/10 model provides a complete and balanced meal that’s especially beneficial for dogs with allergies, itchy skin, or sensitivities to grains and fillers. It’s a simple, wholesome, and highly nutritious way to nourish your dog – just the way nature intended!
A complete dog food that’s packed with nutrition
According to the nutritional guidelines, complete dog food is food that fully meets a dog’s daily nutritional needs. A truly complete diet for your dog must contain four essential nutrient groups to keep them healthy and thriving:
Proteins
Proteins are crucial for muscle development, energy production, and building solid structures like skin, muscles, nails, and bones. Great sources of protein include chicken, turkey, fish, and beef. These proteins are vital for maintaining your dog’s strength and vitality.
Fats
Healthy fats, like Omega-3 fatty acids, are essential for regulating body temperature, promoting a healthy nervous system, and maintaining shiny, healthy skin and coats. Oily fish, bone marrow, and duck are all fantastic sources of fat that support these crucial functions.
Vitamins
Vitamins like A, D, E, B2, B7, and K play a key role in your dog’s growth and overall health. They support everything from immune function to bone health. Offal and fish are excellent natural sources of these vitamins, ensuring your dog stays in top form.
Minerals
There are two types of minerals – macrominerals (needed in larger quantities) and microminerals (needed in smaller amounts). Both are vital for maintaining proper metabolic functions, from oxygen transport to building strong bones. Raw meaty bones, muscle meats, and offal provide excellent sources of minerals to keep your dog healthy and strong.

Frequently asked questions about raw food
All our raw products are human grade and DEFRA tested at an UKAS accredited laboratory to be free of harmful bacteria such E.coli and salmonella. This makes it safer than raw meat that you buy from the supermarket. It should still be handled with the same precautions as any raw meat, and utensils should be washed after use. Food should be defrosted in the fridge and NOT at room temperature.
Our foods are safe to refreeze up to 48 hours after thawing. If your food arrives partially defrosted it is safe to refreeze. We do not replace or refund frozen goods that have arrived within this window, in line with our delivery terms.
If you encounter any issues with your order or if any items are unsatisfactory, please contact us, and we will address the problem as efficiently as possible.
Please note that we cannot accept returns on frozen, raw, or perishable goods, as these are exempt from the right to cancel, unless the goods are faulty.
Yes, all our foods are 100% natural and suitable for all ages. If your puppy is under 3kg in weight, we recommend using our Pure Green Beef Tripe mince until they weigh over 3kg, and then gradually introduce new flavours each week.
Yes, cats can eat all the products that are 100% meat based. Those with fruits or superfoods are not ideal for cats as they are obligate carnivores. If your cat is new to raw feeding you should start with varieties that are lower in bone until they get used to the bone content. Our foods contain MINCED bone, not powdered, so you will find bone pieces up to 8mm.
If you feed a varied raw diet that includes approximately 10% bone and 10% offal, and ideally include some fish or fish oils weekly, you do not need to supplement. Every pet is different though, so if you feel they are lacking in something we can advise you how to support them.
Our minces and chunks are labelled ‘complementary’ as they do not meet FEDIAF (European labelling) guidelines. This is because we do not add any synthetic vitamins, minerals or additives. These guidelines can only be met with additives. The minces labelled 80/10/10 are considered ‘complete’ in the raw feeding world.
We have been looking at what we put into our bodies for many years now. Dedicated pet owners are also starting to question what we feed our beloved pets. Raw feeding is going back to basics, but in a good way! Domestic dogs have a natural carnivorous bias and have evolved from a carnivore. Raw feeding is considered a species appropriate diet that is not highly processed, heat treated, or with additives.
Feeding a varied and balanced raw diet that includes meat, bone and offal may help reduce the risk of many health problems that domestic dogs suffer.
Feeding veg or fruits as part of a raw diet can be beneficial to some dogs, but it is not essential if you are feeding offal regularly. Some veg and fruits are better than others, such as berry fruits and greens. The nutrients these foods provide are more easily accessed if lightly steamed to break down the cellulose fibres.
Dogs that are prone to unwanted weight gain may have a higher veg content to help them feel full and reduce calories. Some dogs are better without veg in their diet, such as those prone to yeasty skin or ear infections.
